AOL AIM is finally going to embrace the lifestream and give people what they want

AOL AIM was the first big social network, and it's amazing how badly they've screwed up evolving their product over the years. It's a heavy client that until now has provided only one function well and has generally ignored the market trends. All this has lead to is slowly declining user base. Well it looks like AIM 7 will finally embrace the larger social web in a big way, rolling in the fruits of their SocialThing purchase and enabling users to follow their full social media stream all from within the AIM application. If it does Twitter well, and integrates with gChat/gMail in some way, it might just get me back (at least on my work computer).
